Kathleen Landis and Frank Dain celebrate Peter and Millie Hanson's anniversary. Those of you in the Cabaret Community know what great supporters of cabaret the Hansons have been, so come and raise a glass to them. We did this last year and had a great audience and everyone had a terrific time. This year, we'll have a few surprise guests.  No reservations required. Hope to see you there!

July 2005

“Hello friends and family, hope you're enjoying the balmy summer weather. A news update: the Pierre hotel is now managed by Taj hotels of India. The Four Seasons left as of July1st. Because of this transition, I will be working more this summer than usual. My vacation will be from July 19 through Aug. 1.  I will return to my normal schedule beginning Aug. 2.

The summer months are quiet. It's a lovely way to spend a summer evening. Nancy Winston and Ronny Whyte will be covering for me during my break.
Hope to see you!!!!”  -  Kathleen

“I had a really interesting evening last Wednesday. Kitty Hart and I preformed for Roy Neuberger and his family/ friends.  It's Roy's 102nd birthday if you can believe that!!! He's still so together that he gave an impromptu speech. It was a wonderful evening.  Michael Feinstein surprised us by coming to the party and leading a happy birthday with Kitty.” – Kathleen Landis

December 2004

Celebrity tribute honors premier pillars of NY cabaret community at Hotel Pierre.

On the evening of December 1, Kathleen Landis, resident singer-pianist at the Café Pierre,

hosted a musical tribute to Mildred & Peter Hanson, avid devotees of cabaret

performance and steadfast supporters of cabaret artists.

The occasion of the Hansons’ 22nd wedding anniversary was the inspiration for gathering

cabaret luminaries  Julie Wilson, Steve Ross, Daryl Sherman and famed opera star, Deborah Voight.

For this occasion, Ms. Landis accompanied the evening’s guest singer, Frank Dain,

editor of Cabaret Scenes magazine. They performed to a sold-out room creating an

intimate musical soirée reminiscent of the salon evenings of Mabel Mercer.  The regular

patrons were surprised by this unannounced panoply of  well-known performers

highlighted by Landis’ playing for New York’s premier cabaret diva, Julie Wilson, who

sang, “But Beautiful” and Steve Ross who performed, “Married” which he had sung to the Hansons

on their wedding night twenty-two years ago at the Algonquin Hotel’s Oak Room.

Fabulous dancers in their own right and affectionately known as the Pierre’s “Astaire &

Rogers,” the Hansons then took to the floor, swirling and dipping for a delighted

audience, stylishly “puttin’ on the Ritz” or in this case, the Pierre!
