and Frank Dain celebrate Peter and Millie Hanson's
anniversary. Those of you in the Cabaret Community know what great supporters
of cabaret the Hansons have been, so come and raise a
glass to them. We did this last year and had a great audience and everyone had

tribute honors premier pillars of NY cabaret community at Hotel Pierre.
On the evening of December 1, Kathleen Landis, resident singer-pianist
at the Café Pierre,
hosted a musical tribute to Mildred & Peter Hanson, avid devotees
of cabaret
performance and steadfast supporters of cabaret artists.
The occasion of the Hansons’ 22nd
wedding anniversary was the inspiration for gathering
cabaret luminaries Julie Wilson,
Steve Ross, Daryl Sherman and famed opera star, Deborah Voight.
For this occasion, Ms. Landis accompanied the evening’s guest singer,
Frank Dain,
editor of Cabaret Scenes magazine.
They performed to a sold-out room creating an
intimate musical soirée reminiscent of the salon evenings of Mabel
Mercer. The regular
patrons were surprised by this unannounced panoply of well-known performers
highlighted by Landis’ playing for
sang, “But Beautiful” and Steve Ross who performed, “Married” which he
had sung to the Hansons
on their wedding night twenty-two years ago at the Algonquin Hotel’s
Oak Room.
